Logitech G is expanding its G5 Series with the launch of its newest gaming headset, the G522 Lightspeed. This versatile headset offers wireless and wired connectivity options, making it suitable for various platforms.
The G522 features 40mm Pro-G audio drivers crafted from biocellulose, engineered to minimise distortion and allow gamers to pick up in-game audio cues. It also includes a removable omnidirectional Blue Voice microphone for clear communication. Designed for extended use, the headset weighs around 290g. It also features a suspension headband for even weight distribution and memory foam ear cups wrapped in soft-touch fabric suitable for users wearing glasses or earrings.
The headset's tri-mode connectivity provides flexibility, allowing use via Logitech's low-latency Lightspeed wireless technology, standard Bluetooth, or a direct USB-C cable connection. This ensures compatibility with PC, PlayStation 5, macOS, and mobile devices. Battery life is quite good, lasting up to 90 hours with RGB lighting turned off or around 40 hours with the lights active. Power management options include an 80% default battery charge cap to help increase battery longevity over time.
The earcups' customisable RGB illumination supports Logitech's Lightsync technology, offering 16.8 million colours. All customisation, including mic settings, equaliser profiles, and illumination, is managed using Logitech's G Hub or the Logitech G smartphone app. Up to three onboard profiles can be saved. The Logitech G522 is now available for €169,99/$159.99.
